Houston is an amazing, diverse city, and the local filmmaking community reflects that. Whether you are a day one beginner or experienced veteran, there is something for you. This is an industry and hobby that has a space for everyone and every story, so we encourage you to get involved, whether you attend an event, help out on a film, or support a local project. We’re the fourth-largest city in the country, and it’s time to take our rightful place in the filmmaking industry. https://lnkd.in/eeMc9Rtr

Howard Sherman’s tale begins in Houston, where he grew up with a pencil in hand and cartoons in his mind. By 2006, with an MFA from the University of North Texas, he’d honed a style all his own—huge canvases where abstract elegance meets a visionary spark. His paintings, alive with sweeping strokes and echoes of his cartooning past, tell stories in vivid hues. They’ve found homes in Texas museums, grace Houston’s Bush Airport, and star on the cover of Texas Abstract. Now, with a 2023 monograph and shows from Marfa to Berlin, this Houston native’s brilliance shines globally. Lisbet Newton sat down with him in his studio for this captivating interview—watch it now! https://lnkd.in/gv9ASUMH
