This week Houston BOMA’s DEI committee members attended the Greater Houston Partnership's Inclusion Solutions Session 3 on LGBTQ+ and explored actionable strategies for fostering inclusive workplaces. Speakers Tressa Consuegra, Business Banker and Co-Chair of the LGBTQ+ BRG at Amegy Bank, and Tammi Wallace, Co-Founder, President & CEO of the Greater Houston LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of genuine engagement, empowering diverse leaders, and integrating inclusivity into all aspects of a company's operations.

Yesterday our CEO Bradley Elliott, MBA, CAE attended the Houston Permitting Center's sold-out workshop, which Houston BOMA also sponsored. Our members were able to hear from department leaders on the permitting process and how to get through plan review quickly and efficiently. Houston BOMA is saddened by the tragic passing of member Travis Bailey on October 27, 2024.?Travis was a Chief Engineer with Transwestern at 1900 West Loop South. He was always up and ready to help others, no matter the circumstance. He was a loving grandson, son, husband, father, cousin, in-law, uncle, and?amazing friend. Our hearts are with the Bailey and Benitez family, and with our members who worked alongside him at Transwestern.
