As we gather together this Thanksgiving, let's give thanks for the comfort of a home and remember those still in need of a safe, affordable place to live. Housing is more than just shelter—it's a cornerstone of well-being. This holiday, let's reflect on the importance of ensuring affordable housing for everyone. #Thanksgiving #HTFVC
关于我们
The Housing Trust Fund Ventura County is a 501c3 non profit established to help expand affordable and workforce housing in Ventura County. Since 2006, the HTFVC has worked to bring about the development of a regional solution to the insufficient supply of housing that is affordable to local employees and residents throughout Ventura County. The HTFVC supports housing projects that enhance the quality of life and preserve the long-term affordability of housing as a community resource. The Housing Trust Fund Ventura County is a 501c3 non profit established to help expand affordable and workforce housing in Ventura County (prior to Aug. 2019 known as Ventura County Housing Trust Fund). Funds from the Housing Trust Fund will be made available to qualified developer applicants through primarily short-term, low-interest-rate loans for the purpose of creating new affordable housing in Ventura County. Loans will be awarded through an application and underwriting process as funds are available. Priority funding will be given to projects that create homes for veterans, homeless individuals and families, transitional aged youth coming out of foster care, farm workers, and those at the lowest income levels. The Fund began with a $2 million matching grant from Proposition 1C passed by California voters in 2006. The Housing Trust Fund's full $4 million was distributed by early 2017. In 2018, Proposition 1 was approved by California voters and can provide up to $10 million in matching funds to Housing Trust Fund Ventura County for the development of new affordable housing in our community. HTF is currently raising the $10 million match.

We are heartbroken to learn of the tragic vehicle accident that claimed the life of Mike Morgan, longtime Camarillo Mayor and former Housing Trust Fund Ventura County Board member. Sadly, it has also left his wife, Donna, with serious injuries. Our thoughts are with Donna, as she recovers, and with the entire Morgan family during this incredibly difficult time. We honor Mike's lasting legacy of dedication and service to our community.

Rural housing programs are a lifeline for farmworkers! The USDA's Section 514/516 Farm Labor Housing Program helps create affordable rental housing, addressing the housing crisis in rural areas where options are limited. Programs like these are vital for supporting the hardworking individuals who keep our farms thriving. #AffordableHousing #FarmworkerSupport #RuralCommunities #HousingForAll

This past summer our CEO Linda Braunschweiger worked with the Wezesha Project Burundi who offers microloans to women business owners in one of Africa's youngest countries. Linda had the opportunity to train, motivate, and encourage staff and borrowers while there. She also spoke at their graduation ceremony of 1,800 people. Linda's church not only provided her this opportunity but also raised enough funds for 400 women to receive bags of rice and beans, keeping their families fed for months. Great job, Linda! Congressman Salud Carbajal shared his memories growing up as a child of a farm worker for a wonderful video project Housing Trust Fund Ventura County is working on alongside House Farm Workers!, People's Self-Help Housing, and AMCAL Multi-Housing, Inc. Thank you Senator Carbajal for being an inspiration to so many and helping our neighbors move into farm worker housing at Somis Ranch Farm Worker Apartments in Somis and People's Place in Santa Paula. #SupportFarmworkers #FarmworkerHousing #HTFVC #VenturaCounty
