Our Mission: Housing Families First gives families facing homelessness the opportunity to build a legacy for their families by providing a path to a permanent home. We carry out this mission through three core programs: Hilliard House, a short-term emergency shelter for families; Building Neighbors, a rapid re-housing program; and Bringing Families Home, a partnership program in which we help precariously housed students and their families in Chesterfield, Richmond, and Henrico move to permanent housing. ... Our Vision: A Richmond region where all children and their families have a safe place to call home. Housing Families First is a 501(c)3 organization with a 20-year track record of successfully helping families experiencing homelessness move to permanent homes.

Last week, United Bank held our annual in-person CRA Action Committee retreat in Richmond VA, and it was such an energizing experience! It was wonderful seeing our team come together, share ideas, and build connections across departments. We had the opportunity to visit Housing Families First where we saw firsthand the incredible work they’re doing to support families in need. It was inspiring to witness United Bank's involvement and the impact we’re making in the community through partnerships like this. We also toured Winchester Forest in Chesterfield County with the Better Housing Coalition. United Bank has been deeply involved in making this affordable community a reality for 160 families, transforming Winchester Forest into a place people are proud to call home.
