Participating in the Supportive Housing Institute has been a great learning experience for our staff. We're excited to be working with great partners--Path Home, Mental Health & Addiction Association of Oregon, and New Narrative--on three of the projects that emerged from the 5th SHI cohort!
OHCS and the Corporation for Supportive Housing just announced 7 affordable housing projects that emerged from the 5th Supportive Housing Institute. Projects are located in Portland, Manzanita, Beaverton, and Forest Grove. The Institute aims to help cohorts bring supportive housing to local communities through in-depth training and specific technical support. Permanent supportive housing provides wraparound services and affordable spaces for those experiencing chronic homelessness. We're so excited for yet another successful Institute. At the 2024 CHAM - Consortium for Housing and Asset Management conference in Atlanta in last month, HDC's Kimberly Taylor (KT) had a blast moderating a panel discussion about how asset managers and developers can work together to set up projects for success starting at feasibility. Now more than ever, housing teams need to collaborate to ensure new developments start off on the right track and are operationally resilient for the long term! ?
