Trial Victory in Northern California Houser LLP’s trial team with attorneys Bob Norman and Darlene Morris obtained a trial victory this week in San Jose, California. The national financial firm client asked Houser to step into the case slated for a jury trial because prior counsel faced some challenges with the Court and a property worth more than $5 million dollars. Houser previously defeated the other party in a separate federal court action and knew how to leverage their opponent’s colorful history. After stepping in, Mr. Norman and Ms. Morris coordinated with the Department of Justice as it prosecuted another criminal action against one of the opponents for securities fraud, successfully moved for bifurcation of the jury trial, and persuaded the Court to grant the client’s and deny the opponents’ Motions in Limine to further streamline the trial. Mr. Norman elicited favorable expert testimony to educate the Court on the customs and norms dealing with a complex statutory scheme, and Ms. Morris’ examination of the key fact witness illustrated the client’s compliance with all legal requirements. On cross-examination, Mr. Norman used the opponent’s proclivity for illegal activity to attack credibility. The Court’s ruling on the legal issues for Houser destroyed the opponents’ arguments and avoided the need to empanel a jury. The Court awarded all requested remedies to Houser’s client, including both equitable and monetary damages.

Houser Father & Son Duo Get?First Courtroom Victory Together This week in the Long Beach Superior Court, the father and son attorney team of Eric and Nico Houser (pictured), obtained a big defense judgment win for a corporate client of the Firm. Trial Victory for Client: Attorneys Bob Norman and Darlene Morris of Houser LLP obtained a trial victory in the Santa Barbara California Superior Court this week.?Houser’s financial institution client was sued by a Plaintiff claiming millions of dollars in damages.?Plaintiff’s last settlement demand was $800k.?At trial, the Court granted a complete defense verdict on all of Plaintiff’s claims. The Court noted that Mr. Norman’s cross-examination of Plaintiff was “devastating to her case.” This was Ms. Morris’ third trial in the last six months.?

Houser Victory For Client Following Jury Trial: Attorneys Eric Houser and Darlene Morris of Houser LLP prevailed for the firm’s client following a jury trial in Orange County California Superior Court. Houser’s client, a successful tech startup company, was sued by an individual claiming to have an ownership stake in the company entitled to $7.2 million in damages. Following the jury trial, the Court issued judgment on all claims in favor of Houser’s client, resulting in a complete defense win.?
