Something we’re exceptionally proud of at House Sanitary Supply is the many long-term customer relationships we’ve built. Customer service rep Makkena Nahas shares an example of a client who’s been with House for decades. “They’re a family-owned company, like we are, which is part of what has bonded us so closely,” Makkena explains. We began working with the owner, who is now retired, and today we are working with his kids, who have continued running the company. It’s been a joy getting to know the whole family. They come in frequently, during which we don’t just help them with their cleaning needs but also catch up about their families, pets, and overall lives. Although it’s a bittersweet moment, we want to congratulate Jim Watson on his retirement. He’s certainly earned it after 53 years with House Sanitary Supply! Jim, whose most recent role was as our lead machine repair technician, has always been an integral part of the team. He previously served as our warehouse manager, operations manager, and purchasing pro. That’s right—Jim knows so much that it’s challenging to train someone new on all he’s learned over the years! However, he’s training his successor (our current warehouse manager), and we’re confident Jim will equip him with the tools he needs to succeed in repairs. We’re immensely grateful for Jim’s decades of dedication, can-do attitude, and focus on educating both coworkers and customers. His insights into the common challenges our clients face, like the simple yet overlooked task of changing a vacuum bag, highlight the importance of knowledge in equipment maintenance. Jim shared earlier last year, “I see my role not just as fixing problems but as an opportunity to educate. Whether it’s advice on maintaining a new piece of equipment or a quick repair, my door is always open, no extra charge.” Thank you for your openness and patience in passing on that knowledge, Jim! We’ll miss having you here day-to-day, but we’re all better off, thanks to all you’ve taught us. Ryan started with House as a Warehouse Driver, then became Warehouse Manager for many years before transitioning to purchasing. Thanks to his quick thinking and effective decision-making under pressure, Ryan has been an exceptional leader who has consistently delivered outstanding results. Several months ago, Ryan shared, “I really enjoy the luxury of being in a position where my brain can work best. Solving puzzles, high pressure, and on-the-spot decision-making is where I thrive, and that's essentially what purchasing is at any company in this industry. House has always been a comforting and fun atmosphere to work at.” We’re confident his dedication, cool-and-collected nature, and savviness will serve him well in his next role in a new industry.
