Today, Owensboro’s IGA Store 20 hosted an event celebrating its recognition as one of only three nationwide winners in Coca-Cola’s 2024 display competition. The store received the Bronze Olympic Torch, a symbol of excellence, for its outstanding Coca-Cola display. This award, an official torch of the 2024 Paris Olympics, underscores the store’s creativity and dedication to showcasing the iconic Coca-Cola brand. The award will be proudly displayed in-store as a testament to their achievement and connection to this global event. Last week, members of our QSR team volunteered at The Annual Chili & Cheese & Community Celebration at Montana Grill. Presented by ELPO Law to benefit Junior Achievement with other community partners, including WKU Alumni Association, Sublime Media Group, and WBKO. Our team helped prepare and distribute meals that were presold. Junior Achievement facilitates programming in our local schools to teach financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness. Congratulations to our Mt. Carmel Buy-Low Store # 440 for being named the Wabash County 2024 Business of the Year. The store was honored at a ceremony last Tuesday where store manager, Ryan Hinderliter was presented with the award. Area customers nominated the store for reasons including: overall cleanliness, the large variety of products, the outstanding departments represented, including a pharmacy and Ace Hardware, and most importantly, the overall excellent customer service given by the employees. We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mr. Jimmy Nichols, former President, and Chief Operating Officer of Houchens Food Group. Jimmy played a pivotal leadership role in his 14-year tenure with Houchens Food Group, leading the development of the Price Less Foods format which has added significant value to our company over the past 12+ years. In addition to Price Less Foods, he led the development and introduction of Ace Hardware to Houchens Food Group adding diversity to our portfolio of store banners and significant growth potential. He served on Houchens Industries, Inc. Board of Directors as well as the boards of Associated Wholesale Grocers, National Grocers Association, and was proud to have been selected to serve on the Ace Hardware Corporation Board earlier this year. We are forever grateful for the many contributions that Jimmy made to our company and to the industry.

October 21st, our Evansville, IN (store #453) celebrated its regrand opening and ribbon cutting with the community. The newly remodeled IGA, INC. branded store features Local Equals Fresh decor, newly added smokehouse to the deli to broaden the assortment for customers, in-store Kettle Co popped popcorn, ESL tags and more.
