Hotel Tango Artisan Distillery is the first service-disabled, veteran-owned distillery in the U.S. The company was founded by Travis Barnes, a three-time combat Recon Marine war veteran, and his wife, Hilary. Using the NATO phonetic alphabet, “Hotel” and “Tango” is derived from the first names of founders Hilary and Travis.

Every element was thoughtfully curated, ensuring that?Shmallow?not only stood out visually but also delivered an unforgettable experience. The reactions? Absolutely incredible! Folks couldn’t get enough of the rich, toasted marshmallow flavors, and seeing their excitement made all the effort worth it. This is what I love doing—bringing brands to life, turning moments into movements, and making sure every detail tells a story. It's even better than we imagined. ? +66% in $ sales and +70% in volume vs. the same period last year ? ?Velocity up 96%? ? OG ‘Shmallow grew by 10%, proving that we’re boosting—not cannibalizing—the brand Bigger Picture: While the Flavored Whiskey category is down 11%, Hotel Tango’s flavors are UP 54%! ‘Shmallow isn’t just a trend—it’s shaping the category.   • 4 years ago, we were known for our traditional spirits and military-inspired branding. Today, we've created the original toasted marshmallow whiskey that's quickly expanding nationwide. It all started in our Fletcher Place tasting room back in 2014. We had an amazing team of mixologists who loved to experiment. In 2019, they decided to create something different: A s'more-inspired old-fashioned. After countless tests and infusions, our team nailed it. A toasted marshmallow whiskey that would become 'Shmallow. The response? Mind-blowing. It became our #1 selling cocktail. Our customers couldn't get enough. They wanted bottles to take home. So, in 2020, we started working on mass production with our distiller. By 2022, 'Shmallow was ready for the world.     This Saturday, December 21st, officially kicks off the winter season! It’s hard to believe because we’ve been embracing the winter vibe here at Hotel Tango Distillery since the launch of our newest creation, Swiss Miss ‘Shmallow, in September. Collaborating with our incredible production team to perfect the flavor profile—and then teaming up with Conagra Brands and our excellent partners at Young & Laramore to design the label—has been such a rewarding experience. This project has been one of the most exciting and fulfilling highlights of my time at Hotel Tango. Be sure to pick up a bottle at your local retailer and enjoy it this winter with friends & family.
