Last weekend, the HEC Board of Directors had an incredible opportunity to explore some fantastic establishments in New York City. Special thanks to Abdul Rahman and Highgate for the chance to tour four of their properties, and a huge shoutout to Erik Palmer and the Park Central team for hosting us! We are truly grateful to the amazing staff who welcomed us, guided us through each location, and shared valuable industry insights. Hotel Ezra Cornell is a three-day, student-run business conference for hospitality industry leaders and members of the Cornell community from across the globe. A 100-year tradition of the School of the Hotel Administration, HEC is one of the oldest organizations at Cornell and an unparalleled introduction to the students, faculty, and alumni of the preeminent hospitality program in the nation. Featuring some of the most talented individuals in the business, the conference will discuss the latest developments in hospitality and include leisure events for attendees to network with other professionals and meet the students who will be leading the industry in the future. It is an honor to announce Sarah Newcomb NSHA ‘25 as the Managing Director for the 100th Annual Hotel Ezra Cornell! Sarah has been a part of HEC since her freshman year. She started her HEC career in the Culinary Department as an Assistant Function Manager for HEC 97, and then went on to serve as the Assistant Director of the Food and Beverage Department for HEC 98.? These experiences led to her role as the Food and Beverage Director for HEC 99. She has been passionate about her commitment to HEC and is dedicated to being a proactive and responsible leader as we embark on a big milestone for our organization. With ample experience working with others and mentoring other students, Sarah is involved in numerous organizations centered around helping the community around her. She is involved in the Dean’s Student Advisory Board, the Hotel Student Mentorship Program, and A Seat at the Table (a business ethics consulting club). Sarah has an incredible way of bringing people together in pursuit of a common goal, and is ready to embrace all of the opportunities that come with executing the 100th Annual Hotel Ezra Cornell.

As the last sparks of HEC 99 die out, we wanted to reflect on the conference weekend. The past two days have created everlasting love, joy, and laughter. We appreciate the opportunity to come together and carry on the long-lasting tradition of service.
