The Bay Area Builders Association, affectionately known as BABA and a division of the GHBA that proudly supports the vibrant coastal region south of Houston, hosted its annual BABA Fishing Tournament last week. Since 2014, the BABA Fishing Tournament has been a signature event bringing together our builder and associate members for a friendly yet competitive day out on the water. We owe the continued success of this beloved event to the leadership and dedication of our BABA board. A special thanks goes to our 2024 President, Ericka Hill of Stonefield Houston; our 2024 Associate Vice President, Nicholas Garcia of HomePro Home Technologies; and our 2024 Secretary, Sara Green of Carrier Corporation, along with the entire BABA Board of Directors and BABA Fishing Tournament event committee. Your hard work and volunteer leadership are truly the backbone of this event. This year’s tournament saw some fierce competition across both the Women's and Men's Divisions. In the Women's Division, Jennifer Ramirez from Brookfield Properties secured the 1st Place Red, while Cassie Shanks from Hotchkiss Insurance came in extremely close at 2nd Place Red. Molly McGinty of Team Dupure took home 1st Place Trout, and Lacy Silva from Sherwin-Williams Team 2 secured 2nd Place Trout. The Biggest Stringer title for the Women's Division was awarded to Randi Worsham, Molly McGinty and Natalie Medders, representing Team Dupure. In the Men's Division, Vincente Munos from Chesmar Team 4 took 1st Place Red, while his teammate Cole Chrisman landed in 2nd Place Red. Dustin Theiss with team ABC Supply won 1st Place Trout, and Ross Kutach with team Builders FirstSource came in 2nd Place. The Men’s Division Biggest Stringer was awarded to David Castle, Brian King and Mike Paschall representing team Ironwood Connection. Finally, the 2023 Biggest Fish was a Sheephead caught by Shari Hunt with team Hotchkiss Insurance. The 2024 Texas Grand Slam Winners were secured by Vincente Munos, Cole Chrisman and Darian Nelson with team Chesmar, Team 4. Last, but certainly not least, the 2024 Spot Pot Winner was Randi Worshman with team Dupure with a total of eight spots.
