关于我们
Hospice of Washington County, Inc. was established in 1980 for the sole purpose of lending support to those facing a terminal illness and their families. A core of caring citizens of Washington County, Maryland gathered to see how they could offer their time and talents to help share the burden of a serious illness for their neighbors. Over the past thirty years, Hospice of Washington County developed into a full service hospice with two doctors, registered nurses, certified nursing assistants, professional social workers and spiritual care providers in addition to our many dedicated volunteers. At Hospice of Washington County, this month is dedicated to honoring the importance of comfort and quality of life for those facing serious illness. We’re proud to honor our #CareHeroes—our devoted caregivers, clinical teams, volunteers, and staff who work tirelessly to ensure that every patient receives the highest standard of compassionate care to live every moment. We also celebrate the courage of our patients and their families, who inspire us every day. Talking about hospice and palliative care opens doors to understanding and empathy. This Thanksgiving, Hospice of Washington County is honored to help bring comfort to our patient families during this challenging time. The holidays can be especially difficult when facing an end-of-life journey, and for those families who are facing economic challenges, the stress can be overwhelming. To make this season a little brighter, HWC is adopting several patient families who are struggling with household challenges and will provide them with a traditional Thanksgiving meal. A donation of just $150 will ensure a family of four has a full holiday meal to enjoy together. Your generosity will make a meaningful difference in their lives when they need it most. We deeply appreciate your support during this special time of year. ?? For more information or to contribute, please call us at 301-791-6360, or visit this link: https://lnkd.in/eSvqGbqD Thank you for supporting Hospice and our patient families this holiday season.

National Philanthropy Day is celebrated annually on November 15. This day signifies the importance of working together for the common good. Philanthropic deeds come in all different shapes and sizes — charitable giving, volunteering, etc. — and on National Philanthropy Day, no act of kindness goes unnoticed. President Reagan first proclaimed November 15 as National Philanthropy Day in 1986, and communities all throughout the world have celebrated the importance of this occasion ever since. Thank you for supporting and helping to advance the hospice mission!
