The American Red Cross is committed to bringing immediate support and long-term relief to those affected by disasters. HORNE’s #SeasonsOfGiving donation will go toward providing emergency shelter, food, and vital assistance to the communities hit hardest by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The American Red Cross is saving lives and helping communities recover, and we are happy to aid their disaster relief efforts. In the photo, Wimauma, FL resident Maria receives a box full of warm meals from American Red Cross volunteer Tommy Smith. Maria and her two sons are just many of the Wimauma residents receiving food after the area was without power for several days. The warm meals are provided by Operation BBQ Relief, a community partner, and are served alongside water and snacks. The food served by volunteers was frequently the first warm meal many residents had enjoyed in several days due to Hurricane Milton. The Red Cross has hundreds of volunteers on the ground in communities working alongside community partners and government agencies to provide much-needed services to those who were impacted by both Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. Last week, HORNE team members in the Philippines held their first-ever #SeasonsOfService project at the Alay Pag-asa Christian Foundation Inc. in Mandaluyong City! Alay Pag-Asa is a Christian non-profit organization in the Philippines that helps vulnerable children and their families grow in faith and become productive members of society. Led by Emily Parrish Miller, along with Senior Managers Mahlia Fritz, CPA, Colby Herndon, CPA and Joseph Raby, CPA, provided both cash and in-kind donations to 60 beneficiaries. They were also joined by 40 other volunteers to give joy and hope through a program where both the beneficiaries and volunteers played games, danced to the music, and enjoyed the day! Addressing summit attendees, HORNE's Jon Legner and OZ's Sal Cardozo outlined how converting disjointed data into a reliable foundation enables accurate billing, streamlined processes, and AI-driven decision-making for a U.S.-based utility client. To resolve the utility’s #legacy #billing issues, OZ and Horne developed a flexible ‘disposition engine’ to classify and correct data issues as they emerge. In its initial run, the engine processed 156,000 records and identified over 40,000 critical corrections by #backoffice or field personnel. Built on #Azure and #Databricks, this solution integrates 200+ data points from diverse sources, creating a data lakehouse that continuously drives improvements. With this robust data footing, the client is positioned to activate AI-driven solutions that will transform operations—preventing data issues before they arise.
