The CTV Gateway Endeavor recently found its way back to Bridgeport, Connecticut. In 2023, Hornblower Marine successfully converted the vessel from an oil field crew boat to an offshore wind farm crew transfer vessel, specifically tailored to meet the operational requirements of an offshore wind installation. Originally constructed in 1985, the 125 ft vessel was given several additions that included a new bow transfer platform, an electronically driven bow thruster, forward and aft fendering systems, digital throttle controls, removable railings, and an entirely new electrical system along with additional seating for crew members. These conversions were completed by the Hornblower Marine team on-site, located at Bridgeport Boatworks. The vessel is part of a growing fleet of CTVs that aid in the renewable energy efforts of WINDEA CTV LLC.?
