An image is worth a thousand words, but we'll keep it short: This week, we opened WhatsApp to a message from Hormonally board member Dr. Sarah Cigna letting us know resident attendees have been using?hormonally.org?to support their work with veteran patients. What an affirmation of our mission: that education isn’t a nice to have; it’s the foundation to better healthcare. Effective education makes abstract and overwhelming information clear and relatable. It bridges gaps between medical specialists and non-expert audiences. It helps catch symptoms before they escalate and empowers patients, while making clinicians’ lives easier. Want to see how we're using education to close the gender health gap? Innovation in treatments is essential, but so is innovation in health education. Hear us out. What happens when medical textbooks fail to accurately depict a complex, intricate part of the body? Or when people struggle to talk about it with their doctor because of stigma and shame? If you’re a women’s health education nonprofit, like Hormonally, you close the knowledge gap. Enter The Vulva Map. With help from Sarah Cigna, director of the Sexual Health and Gender Affirmation Center, and Katy Dumas from George Washington University Hospital, we’ve developed an interactive tool designed to: ? Improve diagnostic accuracy for clinicians ? Strengthen patient-provider communication ? Empower and validate all bodies Vulvovaginal pain is often dismissed or misdiagnosed which can have serious health implications and lead to the unnecessary development of more serious conditions including cancer. A non-intimidating, accurate tool can help to change this. Explore the innovation via the link in comments, and share it to help more people access better care. A huge thank you to our board members for supporting this important work: Elaine Lissner, Dr. Kyra Valentine, Dr. Sarah Cigna, Dr Katy Dumas, Christin L Sogge Lindsey Miller, Alycia Williams, and Bradley L.. #genderaffirmingcare #genderinclusivecare #lgbtqaffirmingcare #vulvadiversity #sexualhealth #sexualmedicine #vulvovaginalmedicine

Breaking stigma and learning about our bodies is so much more powerful when we approach it creatively. We’re partnering with the Vagina Museum to host an interactive session focused on vulvovaginal anatomy and health. Participants will decorate their own 3D-printed clitoris while exploring the importance of anatomical literacy. Every ticket supports Hormonally’s mission to improve access to evidence-based health education. Grab your spot via the link in comments!

Not everyone has access to a New York Times subscription, but everyone deserves access to essential information about their health. A woman’s risk of heart disease rises significantly after menopause, yet this issue remains widely overlooked. A viral New York Times article published in 2023 helped expose how women have been misled about menopause and its impact on heart health. But there’s a catch: the content is behind a paywall. At Hormonally, we believe that this kind of information should be accessible to everyone, so we’ve licensed the article for you to read for free (link in comments). Help spread the word this Cardiovascular Awareness Month - share this post with your network so that more people can access these important facts. #CardiovascularAwarenessMonth #heartdisease #menopause

It’s 8 March 2025 (International Women’s Day), and your company has two choices: Option 1: Post a thoughtful LinkedIn message about supporting women in the workplace. Perhaps there's a panel discussion. People like the post. The conversation continues - but nothing really changes. Option 2: Your employees take part in a workshop that transforms how they think about women’s health. ?? A manager learns how to better support a team member navigating menopause. ?? An employee understands how stress impacts their cycle and what they can do about it. ?? A colleague realizes how much a family member is being impacted by their hormonal health. By the end of the session, your team is equipped with knowledge and tools to thrive. Your company isn’t just talking about supporting women - it’s taking real action. If you're looking to create a lasting impact this International Women’s Day, our educational workshops can help make it happen. ?? Email [email protected] or DM a member of our team to get started: Lucy Chatwin Eleni Stefanou #internationalwomensday #womensday2025 #workplaceofthefuture #employeengagement

One Year of Redefining What It Means to Be Hormonal. Happy Birthday Hormonally! ?? One year ago, today we launched Hormonally with a clear mission - to deliver inclusive educational tools and programs that close critical gaps in accessibility; enabling everyone to obtain greater agency over their health, their bodies, and their futures. Today, we’re proud to celebrate a year of growth, impact, and community building. In just 12 months, we’ve: ?? Built a comprehensive library of evidence-based free resources championing informed consent and shared decision making. ?? Supported and elevated the voices of marginalized communities, ensuring no one is left out of the conversation. ?? Challenged stakeholders to create infrastructure and policy that supports timely access to care and treatment. ?? Built and launched community focussed programs and initiatives that ensure all individuals, regardless of background, have equitable access to trustworthy, unbiased information and resources. This is only the beginning. ?? As we step into year two, we’re focused on expanding our reach, forging new partnerships, and securing funding to develop our accessible educational programs. To everyone who has supported us—thank you. Whether you've shared our content, attended an event, donated, or simply engaged in this conversation, you’re part of this movement and mission. Let’s continue to redefine what it means to be hormonal. ?? Join us in shaping the next year of Hormonally. Drop a comment, share this post, or visit hormonally.org to get involved. #OneYear #HealthEquity #WomensHealth

2024 has been a defining year for Hormonally. What began as a conversation about equal access to education, has evolved into a?library of over 40 accessible resources?and a vibrant network of women’s health allies. None of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of advocates that recognize the transformative impact inclusive and accessible education can have on health outcomes. We’re honored to count you as hormone allies and know that together we can make inclusive health education an even bigger priority in 2025.

Key learnings from our Closing the Care Gap webinar: ?? A gap has opened up between patient demands and the attitudes of the medical establishment. ?? We need to see funding going to the defence of accurate healthcare information. ?? When facing painful procedures, women value information about what to expect. ?? Whether it's a speculum or a hand, the seeking of gynecological care is inherently invasive. ?? Improving women's health is ultimately about society and what we want to leave for future generations. At Hormonally, we’re committed to facilitating conversations that pave the way for better health outcomes for women. If you have an idea for a webinar topic or are interested in being a speaker, we’d love to hear from you. A huge thank you to everyone who joined our inaugural meet-up, including our event partners at Ninti and panel speakers Marina Gerner, PhD, Fatou Wurie, Alyse Lopez-Salm, and Alycia Williams. Stay tuned for future events as we continue to grow this bold community of change-makers. Access the full webinar recording in the comments ??

Thank you to Paul Holmes from Hologic, Inc. Inc for organising a powerful parliamentary discussion on how we can prioritise and improve gynaecological services in the UK. This week we learnt that 760,000 women are currently waiting for a gynaecological appointment in the UK. It therefore gave us hope to connect in a room full of advocates dedicated to changing these figures. Everyone at this table in UK Parliament is going above and beyond to improve access to healthcare for women and deserves recognition: Kate Lancaster, Ranee Thakar, Aamena Salar, Lauren Redfern, Emma Cox, Janet Lindsay, Isabella d'Almeida, Stephanie Cook, Gill Furniss, Dr. Nina Wilson, Susheel Randhawa, Marian Holliday, Emily Darlington MP, Mims Davies MP for East Grinstead, Uckfield and villages, Steph Tyrrell (Harrison), Louise Lawrence, Charlotte Humphrey, Nick Scott MBA, Tim Simpson
