Celebrating National Agriculture Day with our amazing farmer, Cody! ?? Cody is a 3rd generation farmer and started transitioning his family farm from conventional to organic in 2013. His devotion to sustainable farming practices and cow care ensures the highest quality milk. Cody is utilizing solar panels and incorporating cover crops on his organic acres. Both can enhance sustainability and reduce costs. Plus, by incorporating cover crops, farmers can maintain long-term soil fertility. Farmers are at the heart of Horizon and we love the passion we share for organic dairy.

September is Organic Month! Did you know Horizon Organic became the first national organic dairy brand to offer scholarships designed to support the next generation of organic leaders through the Horizon Organic Producer Education (HOPE) program back in 2007? Today, we’re honored to share this tradition continues with the naming of two HOPE Scholarship recipients for 2024, Rachel Hatch from Freedom, N.Y., and Zackary Tillotson from Pavilion, N.Y. The HOPE Scholarship program encourages young people to seek careers within organic or sustainable agriculture and/or large animal veterinary science. During the past 17 years, Horizon Organic has awarded 105 scholarships and more than $290,000 as part of the HOPE Scholarship program to the children or grandchildren of Horizon producer partners who are working toward a degree in agriculture and related fields. Organic Month is the perfect time to celebrate our two 2024 HOPE Scholarship recipients and all those who are advocating for a more sustainable future. Farmers are the heart of Horizon Organic, and the HOPE program is one way we are helping put farmers first and ensuring organic farmers keep farming for generations to come.
