ZenIP 42407 Voting Result: Passed! We’re excited to announce that ZenIP 42407 has passed with nearly 100% of participants voting in favor of the proposal! This pivotal milestone introduces major updates to $ZEN tokenomics and marks a new era for the Horizen ecosystem. Here's what this means: 40% of $ZEN emissions to Collator and Delegator Rewards - Collators will secure the network and earn $ZEN rewards. $ZEN holders can delegate their tokens to Collators, participate in network security, and earn rewards in return. 32.5% to the Horizen Foundation - This supports long-term growth and ecosystem stability: -- 15% for Ecosystem Development -- 10% for $ZEN Growth & Stability -- 7.5% for Infrastructure Support 27.5% to the DAO Treasury - to drive ongoing community development: -- 17.5% for the ZEN Sustainability Initiative -- 5% for Community Grants -- 5% for Growth Marketing No More $ZEN Halving - A smoothly declining emission rate will replace the traditional halving schedule, creating stability and predictability for $ZEN holders. These changes set the stage for Horizen’s long-term success as a leader in the zk space, empowering the community and driving innovation. Here is what you need to know: In A Nutshell This ZenIP proposes changes to how $ZEN emissions are distributed within the Horizen ecosystem as we upgrade to Horizen 2.0, a Proof-of-Stake EVM-compatible L1 blockchain with advanced zk capabilities. ?? If passed, it will reallocate $ZEN emissions to better align with Horizen’s new mission: supporting dapps and leveraging zero-knowledge technology. This proposal, submitted by Horizen Labs, puts forward a plan for future $ZEN allocations and emissions optimized for a vibrant ZK community built on the Horizen 2.0 blockchain. It is important to note that the maximum supply of 21 million $ZEN will be preserved in the proposed tokenomic model. Why this ZenIP? Horizen is undergoing a major upgrade from a proof-of-work UTXO model to a proof-of-stake EVM-compatible blockchain optimized for ZK. The vision has evolved from facilitating private value transfers to building an ecosystem that supports dApps specifically leveraging zero-knowledge technology.
