We were accompanied by the Mayor of Lincoln, the South of Downtown Community Development Organization, and Lincoln Chamber of Commerce to break ground for our Center Terrace project, a transformative effort in housing and placemaking in the South of Downtown neighborhood. This project features 125 affordable housing units and will integrate a new location for Clinic with a Heart. This project is made possible with Federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits administered by the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority, National Housing Trust Funds from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, ARPA Funding from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, City of Lincoln Affordable Housing Funds and tax increment financing. In addition, it has unique support from the Lincoln Community Foundation, Cooper Foundation, Woods Charitable Fund, and an anonymous donor who collaborated to provide a program related investment to ensure that significant number of rents are affordable and accessible to families on voucher programs. We thank all of the above, as well as our financing partners WNC, Horizon Bank, Security First Bank, Pinnacle Bank, West Gate Bank, and Union Bank & Trust. Finally, we recognize Lincoln Electric System, who is supporting the projects energy efficiency goals, Community Development Resources, who is administering grant funding to the benefit of the project, and Neighborworks Lincoln who supported meaningful community engagement between the neighborhood and Hoppe Development, and Lux Center for the Arts, who is supporting an art selection process.

We appreciate Director Belitz's visit and support in cutting the ribbon! These projects are not possible without DED and state funding.

On October 11th, Vintage Rows, LP hosted a ribbon-cutting event for the first phase of a new, mixed-income, mixed-product community in Lexington. Director K.C. Belitz was in attendance to celebrate this accomplishment with Hoppe Development and the Lexington community. Vintage Rows, LP produced 35 rental housing units for income-qualifying seniors during the first phase of development, as well as a community room, pavilion, pond, and outdoor fitness equipment. DED invested National Housing Trust Funds in the project, which are supporting four of the rental units. Additional project supporters include the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority, the City of Lexington, Midwest Housing Equity Fund, and the Midwest Housing Development Fund. Nebraska Investment Finance Authority, City of Lexington, Nebraska, MIDWEST HOUSING DEVELOPMENT FUND INC Congratulations to Lexington on the new neighborhood!

What a great way to end the week with a Ribbon Cutting Event in Lexington, NE at our new Vintage Rows Complex. Vintage Rows is made up of 34 units of senior affordable housing and approximately 20 units of affordable for-sale housing in a zero entry configuration. Special thanks to all the hard work and dedication from our team. We couldn't have done this without the help from Nebraska Investment Finance Authority, Nebraska Department of Economic Development, City of Lexington, Nebraska, MIDWEST HOUSING DEVELOPMENT FUND INC, Midwest Housing Equity Group, Sugar Creek Capital, Geoff DeOld, AIA, Olsson, Jill Grasso (i.e.design)

It's ribbon cutting season! And a great time to gather as a team. This week, we celebrated the opening of the next phase of the Bluestem Commons neighborhood, a 400 unit mixed income, mixed-product neighborhood that provides first class community design and amenities, but with units accessible to renters as low as 40% of area median income (AMI) and ownership opportunities for families at 150% of area median income and below. This next phase includes 134 units of workforce housing, as well as enhanced community amenities including pool, fitness center, and playground, made more affordable by the Rural Workforce Housing funds from the Greater Fremont Development Coalition (GFDC). Subsequent phases will provide rental housing affordable to families at the 80% AMI level, as well as affordable townhome ownership opportunities featuring downpayment assistance also supported by the GFDC. ? The entire neighborhood mixes individual projects supported by state and Federal Low Income Housing Tax Credits, National Housing Trust Funds, and community support through the Greater Fremont Development Council. It is the product of many partnerships, and we have many to thank, including the City of Fremont, the Nebraska Investment Finance Authority, the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, the Greater Fremont Development Council, Nebraska Housing Resource, Pinnacle Bank, West Gate Bank, and RVR Bank and the Northeast Nebraska Economic Development District. Housing solutions to strengthen communities

Join us for the 10th anniversary of the Food Truck World Tour on September 29th, a global culinary journey that supports our immigrant and refugee neighbors! Bring your friends, family, and colleagues to enjoy diverse dishes from different refugee and immigrant-owned food vendors, all while supporting Immigrant Legal Center + Refugee Empowerment Center’s life-changing programming! We have been involved in issues of resettlement since moving to Omaha, when my family was paired with the Mazimba family from the Congo. As they settled into their new home, we shared meals, games, holidays, helped them welcome two newborns as well as brothers and sisters who were also resettled in Omaha, and worked through challenges to employment, childcare and housing. It has reaffirmed the need for strong resettlement and legal services, and ILC / REC is delivering these services in an really incredible way throughout the state.?
