Hopewell is a farm-based residential treatment program for adults with severe mental illnesses.

关于我们

Hopewell is a therapeutic community located on a 325-acre farm in rural Mesopotamia, Ohio. We help adults with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, bipolar disorder, major depression and other forms of serious mental illness believe in their own potential, develop the skills to manage their mental illness and eventually transition from Hopewell to a more independent living situation. Using the power of nature, meaningful work and a highly skilled, caring staff, Hopewell's program treats the whole person - mind, body and spirit. From gardening to cooking to animal care, vocational opportunities at Hopewell help residents find strengths they didn't know they had, experience new roles, learn new skills, gain job readiness and build self-esteem. Hopewell is one of a handful of therapeutic farm communities in the country, and the only one of its kind in Ohio. We have the ability to serve 40 adults, with housing in four residences on the property. We offer our traditional residential program as well as Club Hope - a daily transitions program designed for people who have a serious mental illness and are living successfully on their own or with family, but might benefit from involvement in a structured, daily program. We believe that everyone can experience success, find a life of purpose and feel hope.

  • ?? ?? Hopewell Family Fun Day ?? ?? The Hopewell Employee Appreciation Committee and kitchen staff organized Family Fun Day on October 5 for staff, their families, residents and friends to enjoy an afternoon of fall activities on the farm. Over 35 staff and family members and 10 residents participated in fun fall activities including apple picking, making cider in an old-fashioned hand cranked cider press, socializing around a fire, painting pumpkins and making s’mores.?Folks also went for nature walks, kids played tag, and many took photos on our bucolic grounds.

  • Hopewell staff celebrated and showed support for people with mental illness by wearing green ribbons on October 10, World Mental Health Day. This year’s theme is “My Mental Health at Work.” Employees were treated to donuts to show appreciation for everything they do to reduce the stigma of mental illness and support mental health awareness at work.
