At a time when Haiti is experiencing unprecedented food insecurity, malnutrition, and unrestrained deforestation, Hope for Haiti partnered with @acceso_org and @stichtinghomeplan to support 300 farmers from three rural communities in southern #Haiti. This innovative #agriculture project addressed the communities’ nutritional needs and improved farmers’ incomes in the communities of Tête Source, Ravine Sable, and Cammy. It consisted of providing farmers with in-person and digital technical training and establishing 200 home gardens and 100 micro-orchards in those communities. Hurricane Milton Update: Thursday, Oct. 10, 12 p.m. EST Thank you to everyone who has asked about our staff members and office in Southwest Florida. We are in contact with our team and board members in the area and have confirmed they are safe. Our office appears to have been spared from severe damage. Our thoughts are with the community and all those who have been affected by the storm. At this time, there are no donated medications or medical supplies awaiting shipment to Haiti from our Naples office, so there is no risk of damage to these essential items. We started our Breast Cancer Awareness Month activities on Friday with our partner @novahopeforhaiti in Cavaillon.
