关于我们

Hope Communities is a nonprofit organization established to provide a pathway to self-sufficiency and economic opportunity for low-income families in greater Denver. Founders understood that individuals and families could better dedicate themselves to those goals when they had a safe place to call home. Hence, began a commitment to offer affordable housing, enriched with essential services to help residents achieve economic stability and personal success. Today, Hope offers 280 units of affordable rental homes and provides an array of programs and services designed to meet the unique needs of the 1,000 individuals we serve each year. We provide hope, opportunity and tools to build career, social capital and community engagement. We want the children we serve to thrive through school and life. We help them to be school ready, support them through K-12 and encourage college enrollment to propel future personal and career achievement. We provide programs to support healthy life choices, social/emotional growth, cultural competencies, leadership development, career awareness and personal enrichment. Adult navigation services and programs are geared toward workforce readiness, career pathways, cultural competencies, health and wellness, personal development and enrichment. We encourage and provide support for adults to advance their careers and become actively engaged in the community. All programs and services at Hope Communities are voluntary and free of charge. Admission to programs is open to neighbors, as well as residents of our apartments, as part of our commitment to build stronger communities. Hope is dedicated to expanding its inventory of affordable housing units to foster inclusive communities and provide opportunity for the people that create the fabric of the Denver economy to live and engage more fully in the area in which they work.

Quang Ho has graciously donated several of his impeccable paintings to our art auction event, "Curating Hope." His work speaks to the soul of the viewer, and as he says "represents the mundane details of the immediate environment." He has been a supporter of Hope Communities because he knows what the refugee experience means, and that having an organization like Hope can mean the difference between surviving and thriving. The beauty in the mundane: that is what Quang Ho uses as his motivation. And he represents that all too well with his amazing paintings! If you would like to see these art pieces in person, please RSVP to join us for the art auction on Saturday! https://lnkd.in/dGCh6mbc

Katy Tartakoff is award-winning photographer of both portraiture and landscapes, with photos that evoke raw emotion from the viewer with their composition and subject matter. She has graciously decided to support hope with a limited edition portfolio to support our upcoming art auction event, "Curating Hope." This portfolio is stunning in so many ways, with beautiful images of life on Oaxaca, Mexico. Katy has supported Hope in many ways since she was introduced to us, offering portrait sessions for our clients who would otherwise not be able to get professional portraits done, and who now hold a family keepsake - some for the first time in their lives. Katy says, "Hope Communities provides support and empowerment to immigrants, refugees and some local folks who are here in Denver in need of housing, access to food, assistance with language translation and helping get children situated in schools. To me, these services are more critical now than ever. The amount of homelessness in Denver is painful to witness every day. We must do better. Hope Communities is assisting people one family at a time and for that, I am grateful. Many moons ago, I didn’t have a place to live or money for food. HOPE Communities has a long history of supporting people on their pathways to economic and personal opportunities. I appreciate that. When I found myself without somewhere to live or the ability to pay rent, a person I worked for allowed me to stay in her home for free in exchange for painting the interior while I was there. I got an old mattress, some saw horses and an old door, put the mattress on the floor and made a work table with the saw horses and door. Since I was only teaching preschool part time, I also got a job at a sandwich shop which fed me one meal a day. I was all set…. Every so often, friends would take me out to eat. To this day, I remain moved and grateful for all the folks who have helped me out throughout my lifetime. It truly does take a Village!!!" We are so excited to have her support and can't wait to see the full, limited edition, portfolio! If you are interested in joining us, please RSVP here: https://lnkd.in/dGCh6mbc

Lorenzo Chavez has graciously donated his remarkable artwork to our upcoming art auction, "Curating Hope." In making the decision to put his artwork behind us, he learned more about Hope and the work we do. He said, "I love that Hope helps newcomers to this country, and we all need some help from our new communities to make a living and a new life." Born in New Mexico, he inherited a connection to the colorful and historic Southwest. He has many fond memories of time spent hiking and running around Albuquerque and feels it was this time that influenced him to become a landscape painter. Chavez has been an active professional fine artist for over 40 years. He has participated in many national invitational group exhibitions, including the Pastel Society of America at The National Arts Club in New York City, Artists of America Show in Denver, Plein Air Painters of America, American Impressionists Society, California Art Club Gold Medal Exhibitions - and many, many more. Chavez’s work is featured in six galleries in the United States and is included in many prominent Private National and International, Corporate, University, and Museum Collections such as The Western History Collection in the Denver Public Library, Children’s Hospital of Denver, Phippen Museum Arizona, Mesa State University Art Collection, The Children’s Hospital Denver. Hockaday Art Museum Montana, Koshare Museum in La Junta. We are so thankful to Lorenzo Chavez for his support to the work of Hope Communities, and we look forward to sharing the piece he has donated. On a beautiful September 21st day, we celebrated the many cultures around Hidden Brook! On any given day you can hear 30+ languages, smell homecooked and authentic meals from around the world, and observe a sea of beautiful faces that look so different from each other. They may not speak the same language, but a smile is universal. Taste of Hidden Brook celebrates all things unique and beautiful about the community, and each year we are lucky to host the event. Celebrate the unique. Smile. Be kind. Eat good food. ?? #HopeCommunities #HomeOpportunityCommunity #DenverColorado
