We wanted to share some great news!?Today the Wisconsin state report cards were released, and we learned that HOPE Christian Schools outperformed MPS, Racine Unified, and the WI state averages for total learning (measured by academic growth) this past year!?The hard work of our scholars, their families and the teams at HOPE Christian Schools and Open Sky Education is paying off!?Thanks to all who have contributed in so many ways to advancing our mission!

Coaching school leaders to run simply great schools | Sharing what I've learned along the way
Show me a school that prioritizes teacher development, and I'll show you a school that retains its teachers. I spent an amazing day with leaders at HOPE Christian Schools coaching teachers and leaders in real time. And there were signs everywhere that signaled to teachers how much their development mattered. Signs like the photo here, posted outside of each teacher's classroom. That sign has the action step the teacher worked on in their previous coaching meeting. Because of that simple sign, the leader could walk into the room and start the observation by looking for evidence of the action step the teacher was coached on. The real-time coaching teachers got started then with celebration, affirmation, a real message of, "I see you for the hard work you're putting in to win on this action step, and look at the impact it's having on your students!" What happens next? Week over week, month over month, teachers get better and are celebrated for the progress they're making. And I'd make a strong bet that 90% or more of them will come back next year knowing how seriously the school takes their professional development.
