We just celebrated Chi and Fadajia's graduation from the Transition Program! These two women have worked so hard and we see many more great things for them. This video (volume up!) gives you a glimpse into what your donations do....they make it possible for young adults to reach stability milestones and dream about their futures. Lighting a path to a safe and stable adulthood for former foster youth
关于我们
The Hope Center at Pullen empowers emerging adults who are transitioning out of foster care in Wake County with the support and connections needed for a safe and stable adulthood. Our staff and volunteers help our participants access a variety of housing options, further their education, explore career options and secure employment, build critical life skills, and take care of their mental and physical health. We also assist each of them in building a personal, comprehensive network of community support. Check us out on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/hopecenteratpullen/

The need for foster homes and adoptive parents is critical, as is the work to support foster teens. Thanks to the News & Observer for covering this important topic, promoting the adoption fair, and including our input. https://lnkd.in/eVgmwa7S

More than 40% of youth leaving foster care experience homelessness, and often more than once. That's what happened to Nyema...until she found The Hope Center at Pullen. Help us give stability to former foster youth by donating to our annual campaign - visit https://lnkd.in/esjdnqpu to make a gift now!

Exciting day here at the Hope Center - our client Denay is now the proud owner of her first car - a 2011 Toyota Sienna! A huge thank you goes to Carrie and her family for this generous gift - which also includes a paid-in-full year of car insurance! Also thank you to?our community partner, HOST for connecting us with Carrie. Denay is a student at NCCU. With a car, she can pursue job opportunities outside of where she can get to by walking or using public transportation. Securing transportation is one of our priorities here at the Hope Center because it can be a huge barrier for our clients to accessing services and maintaining employment.?Denay now has a safe and stable way to get where she needs to go, and she is going far!

Cheers (with cider!) to another year of great outcomes at The Hope Center! In early October, Board and leadership staff members met at our annual retreat to discuss progress and challenges from the last year, and what we hope to accomplish as we head into the new one. We dream big, and can’t wait to hit more milestones with our clients’ journeys in mind and the support of the community to fuel them! Thank you to First Horizon Bank for hosting us again in your beautiful space!

We are so excited for our clients, KW and KS to welcome their babies in November and January! Help them get ready by checking out their baby registries linked below. We are so proud of our parenting clients that are working hard with our parenting specialist to provide stability, care and support to their children. The Hope Center family is growing! We have 37 individuals who still need sponsors for their holiday wish lists – help give our clients a great Christmas by signing up as an Angel Tree gift sponsor! Depending on your preferences, you can select to sponsor clients without children, or families (which are typically one adult client with 1-3 children – all of whom have wish lists), or a combination of both (eg: one family and two clients). Sign up at the link below or contact [email protected] with any questions. https://lnkd.in/exBpC3PS

Last week we kicked off the first LINKS Academy of the 2024-2025 year! The teens completed a Kindness Rock project, reconnected with friends, and set the ground rules for this year's events. We host LINKS Academy nights weekly during the academic year to?help foster teens develop the life skills they will need to succeed. Programming focuses on preparing to enter the workforce, college-readiness, career exposure, mental and physical health, financial management, and more. It's going to be another great year!?

Season’s Greetings – well, almost! We are currently looking for individuals or groups to support our clients by sponsoring them in our annual Angel Tree event. The holiday season can be especially difficult for the youth we work with, often serving as a reminder of loss rather than celebration. We rely on Angel Tree donors to fulfill our clients Christmas wish lists.?We have many clients with young children, so you could also decide to sponsor a family, multiple clients, or multiple families! We are collecting wish lists this month and are looking to secure sponsors between now and October. If you or anyone in your community are interested in participating, please reach out to Brittney Sherley at [email protected] for more information. ?
