We can't wait to see Len Forkas and Matt Forkas at Everest Base Camp!
This isn’t my typical LinkedIn post—but this isn’t a typical expedition. Why Everest? Because it represents a tough physical and mental challenge —and it mirrors the fight our Hopecam kids face every single day, battling cancer. I haven’t left yet, but as I train for this climb, I keep coming back to why I’m doing it. Climbing the world’s highest peak means pushing through relentless obstacles, brutal conditions, and moments of real doubt. It’s the ultimate test of resilience and determination. I studied the dozens of small mistakes I made in 2023 which led to a life threatening medical condition and a high altitude heli-rescue. Since June, I’ve been training daily to be better prepared as I approach the departure day of April 12th. Kids with cancer face their own Everest every day. Their treatment pulls them away from friends, classrooms, and the normal life an every kid deserves. But Hopecam makes sure they’re not fighting that battle alone. This climb will honor these kids. Every step I take is for them. And every donation helps bring connection and hope to these kids.
