Happy St. Patrick's Day and time to celebrate another physician at @westtennesseehealthcare during the month of March for National Doctor’s Day, March 30th! Dr. Nivedita Prasanna has been a physician for five years, and you will find her caring for our critical in the ICU. She stated, “Every day in the ICU gives me an opportunity to provide compassionate, high-quality care, which is very fulfilling. It is not easy to be a patient in the ICU or to have a loved one in the ICU. Seeing these patients recover and knowing that my team and I made a difference for that patient and their family, motivates me to keep doing what I do.” Dr. Prasanna was inspired by her aunt to become a physician during her childhood. She suffered from severe childhood asthma, which was being poorly managed on a suboptimal medication regimen. Her aunt, a physician, came to visit her and immediately got her started on a dual inhaler regimen that worked wonders. Dr. Prasanna was transformed once she started the correct treatment regimen. That experience made her realize the profound impact a skilled doctor can have on someone's wellbeing, and from that moment on, she knew she wanted to make that difference for someone else. Dr. Prasanna feels the privilege of being trusted with a patient's health and well-being is what she cherishes most. Whether it's making a critical decision in the ICU or offering reassurance to a worried family, those moments of connection and impact are what make this profession so rewarding. Our next spotlight is Dr. Jonathan Braun, a vascular surgeon who has been treating patients within?West Tennessee Medical Group?Vascular Surgery for over five years. When expressing why he became a vascular surgeon, he stated, “Because I enjoy being able to care for patients with vascular disease using multiple different tools and techniques, so that way we can pick the best solution for a given patient at a given time.” Dr. Braun’s goal is to impact his patient’s lives by helping them to continue in leading fulfilling lives by helping prevent stroke, aneurysm rupture, and amputations, as well as to reduce their pain and time away from home. Dr. Braun loves his work and working as a team with multiple people from different disciplines all to focus on optimal results for each individual patient. In celebration of this month’s National Doctor’s Day on March 30th, we want to take time to recognize some of the exceptional doctors here at West Tennessee Healthcare. You’ll find Dr. Fielding Randolph in the emergency room ready to help patients with urgent needs. Dr. Randolph has been a physician for 16 years and became an ER doctor for the excitement that ‘everyday is different’. He enjoys the high energy within the ER and the different people he has the opportunity to care for in their time of need. This supports his efforts in staying connected with his community and giving back. Dr. Randolph is from Tennessee and enjoys Jackson for the small town feel but working in a large hospital. Thrill seeking is in his blood, he enjoys flying around the country in his plane to experience different areas of the country, as well. It’s doctors like Dr. Randolph who provide superior care to the patient and families of the West Tennessee area that help make this a great community!

The Hope and Healing Foundation is pleased to announce a gift of $6,000 from Jackson Spokes and the Care for All Kids Celebration Ride to Ayer's Children's Medical Center. Paul Hare and Jackson Spokes raised a total of $12,000 that was split between Ayer's Children's Medical Center and Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. "We are pleased that Jackson Spokes is working to ensure pediatric patients receive the care they need, close to home. Their commitment to provide resources for our pediatric units is such a commendable act of generosity, and we are so appreciative" Donna Stines- Director of Hope and Healing Foundation
