Last summer, one of our residents faced a severe mental health crisis, threatening harm to himself. Our trained counselors swiftly intervened, defusing the situation with expertise and compassion, but as the resident began to stabilize, the first person he reached out to was a member of our facility maintenance team—someone he had grown to trust through the workforce development program. This moment was a powerful reminder of the essence of our Therapeutic Community: every role, every interaction, and every relationship is integral to our mission.
