FDA Approves Tislelizumab (Tevimbra) Plus Chemo for PD-L1+ Gastric/GEJ Cancer We’re excited to share a major breakthrough in stomach cancer treatment! The FDA has approved?tislelizumab (Tevimbra)?combined with platinum- and fluoropyrimidine-based chemotherapy as a?first-line treatment?for patients with unresectable or metastatic, HER2-negative gastric or gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma whose tumors express?PD-L1 (≥1). Why this matters: The approval is based on the results of the phase 3 RATIONALE-305 trial, which showed a significant improvement in overall survival (OS) for patients receiving tislelizumab plus chemotherapy. Key Highlights: Improved Survival Rates:?Tislelizumab offers a meaningful advancement in treatment options for patients with advanced gastric/GEJ cancers. Enhanced Outcomes:?The trial also demonstrated better progression-free survival (PFS) and response rates. “This approval represents a significant step forward in addressing the unmet needs of stomach cancer patients,” said Dr. Mark Lanasa, Chief Medical Officer, Solid Tumors at BeiGene.
