It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Ashley Castellanos Palacios, a beloved fourth-grade student at Hope Academy who tragically lost her life in a recent car accident. Ashley's kindness and joyful spirit touched everyone she met, and her absence leaves a profound impact on our community. Many have asked how they can support Ashley's family during this difficult time. This week in Outdoor Education, Ms. Gabby led the class to revisit the pumpkins they carved last week, observing how they had begun to decay. Through this experience, students learned about the natural rhythms of decay and regrowth, reflecting on how creation itself tells a story of renewal and transformation. At Hope Academy, we follow the Teaching for Transformation framework, using moments like these to help students engage deeply with the world as Creation Enjoyers—one of our core throughlines. By understanding the beauty and purpose in God’s creation, our students are learning to see themselves as active participants in His ongoing work of renewal. ????
