#ProjectProfile Hooper #plumbing crews also played an integral part of the UW Health Eastpark facility build. Hooper's crews installed extensive plumbing and medical gas systems. Specialty areas including sterile processing, lab spaces, many exam rooms, and the café required additional systems and equipment. The Plumbing team also installed specially sourced medical gas equipment to serve the new #protontherapy treatment center - which will be the only upright proton therapy treatment center in North America. Pictured is an exterior bulk brine tank for the water softening system. #ProjectProfile Hooper's #HVAC crews played an integral role in the building of the new UW Health Eastpark Medical Center. HVAC crews installed a variety of different piping materials - including stainless steel, copper, carbon steel, and polypropylene. With a tight #construction schedule, Hooper's Fabrication Facility produced many of the materials in its shop with larger pieces being crane-picked and transported to the site. This was a complex and challenging job due to the magnitude of the HVAC equipment, the heating and cooling zones, and the materials required. The project took roughly two years to complete and welcomed its first patient on October 28th. #ProjectProfile When fully operational, the 470,000 square foot, seven-story UW Health Eastpark Medical Facility will be home to nearly 600 clinical and non-clinical employees. Hooper's Mechanical Division was pivotal in constructing this cutting-edge facility in #collaboration with JP Cullen and Mortenson. Beyond patient care, the new medical center is environmentally conscious. The facility is on track to achieve #LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council (USGBC) using v4.1, LEED's most stringent certification. UW Health intends to achieve #EnergyStarCertification within 12 months of completion. UW Health Eastpark is one of the first health systems nationwide to join the US Department of Energy's #BetterClimateChallenge, pledging to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50% within 10 years! #HooperCorp #medicalfacility #HooperisHere
