Profiles in Leadership: Minoo Hinman Minoo Hinman, VP of Showroom Design for Hooker Furnishings, was born in Tehran, Iran and moved to Mallorca, Spain with her parents as a teen. While there, she learned not only Spanish, but also English, while at the same time became fully submerged in an entirely new culture. She graduated from an American high school and moved to Greensboro, NC shortly after to attend UNCG, majoring in Interior Design with a minor in Art. She started her career at Furnitureland South and has been fortunate to work with other leaders in high-end furniture manufacturing such as Henredon, Natuzzi, Drexel Heritage, Maitland-Smith, and Theodore Alexander. Minoo joined Hooker Furnishings in October 2021, leading the charge in a complete renovation of our HMI Group showroom in High Point, NC located at 220 Elm. She was also a pivotal leader in the move of our Legacy brands showroom from IHFC to the third floor of Showplace. When asked what she loves most about being part of the Hooker Furnishings team, she responded, "I am thrilled to be part of a growing company where I can grow as a designer and a leader." Minoo has been married for 33 years to her husband, Kevin, with whom she shares two children; a daughter, Mina, stationed in Italy with the US Air Force, and a son, Mazi who lives and works in High Point. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with family. She cares for her grand-dog, Roxy, who did not travel to Italy with her daughter, and enjoys volleyball and volunteering as an official for USA Swimming.

In times like these, we’re reminded of the power of coming together. To help rebuild, we’re joining forces with Samaritan’s Purse, a local organization here in North Carolina that’s already on the ground offering vital support where it’s needed most. In addition to making a donation, we’ve created a way for our employees, partners, and anyone who wants to join us to contribute. We’ll be matching employee donations through November 1st. Let’s stand together in this recovery. ?? Click here to donate: https://sampur.se/3Y9JlOE #RebuildTogether #NorthCarolinaStrong #SamaritansPurse #HookerFurnishings

Paul B. Toms, Jr., the grandson of our company’s founder Clyde Hooker Sr., became CEO of Hooker Furnishings in 2000. Confronted with increasing competition from lower-priced imported case goods, Toms led a complete business model transformation, evolving the company from a mid-sized niche case goods manufacturer into a major importer of residential case goods and upholstery, as well as a manufacturer of residential upholstery. During his 20-year tenure, strategic acquisitions included Bradington-Young in 2002, Sam Moore in 2007, Home Meridian International in 2016 (which more than doubled the company's size), and Shenandoah Furniture in 2017. This period was pivotal for Hooker Furnishings, as Toms' leadership propelled the company to become one of the top five furniture resources in North America, ultimately earning a listing on the prestigious NASDAQ Global Select. #100HF #100thAnniversary #ACenturyOfHome #Leadership
