How are your spring semester tutorials going so far, Bobcats? Pictured here teaching an Honors Tutorial College student in 1985 is Dr. Tomoyasu Tanaka. Tanaka was a professor in the physics and astronomy department from 1971 to 1989. He was also crucial to OHIO's partnership with Chubu University in Japan. ?? In 2015, four new residence halls were constructed on South Green. One of them, Tanaka Hall, was named in honor of Tanaka and his wife, Sumiko Tanaka. ??: Ohio University Libraries Digital Archives

Alumna and research technician Emily Sudnick, B.S.B.S. '24, is helping a team of OHIO researchers study how bacteria can become more infectious in space. ?? ?? Led by Dr. Ronan Carroll, the team is working with University of Florida to analyze bacterial samples that have traveled back from the International Space Station. Emily has helped in handling the high-stakes processing of the samples.

Fred Drogula, Classics and Religious Studies professor, has won the national Society for Classical Studies Excellence in Teaching Award. ?? The award recognizes inspiring educators who foster growth and instill creativity and mentorship in their students and the awardee is chosen by peers in their field. Student testimonials are also cited in the awarding of the honor, with Drogula's students saying he is approachable and passionate and has created a space where they are allowed to make mistakes without judgement.

Frazier, a senior OHIO Honors Program Student, is being recognized as a finalist for her overall contributions throughout her college career, which has earned her a sizeable resume.
