When I first started in the nursing home business, I received very important advice from an Administrator that I worked for. She said that you have to be aware at all times of how you carry yourself. Employees within the nursing home and assisted living environment notice everything you do as a department head. They notice your mood, your stress, your actions, your interactions (both with coworkers and resident/families), they notice how polite you are, respectful, they notice how caring you are, and they notice how much of a team player you are (or are not). And they model the behavior of leadership. I’ve tried to never forget that no matter what role I have had over the years…team members, especially those on the front line, really do notice everything that you do. That advice was invaluable, and for me has been proven to be true time and time again. #healthcare #leadership #management Honor Aging

As we celebrate our third anniversary, we feel fortunate to be in a position to give to organizations who support improving the lives of older adults, and to our furry friends who provide support and friendship to many older adults via certified pet therapy programs. It’s always exciting to visit new senior living communities, today I had the pleasure of visiting the start up team at Chelsea Senior Living in West Orange, NJ. We are going to continue to desperately need new care options as the aging demographic grows through 2070.
