Non-profit flying WWII, Korean War, & Vietnam War Veterans on FREE 3-day journey of honor to their Washington memorials.

关于我们

We are the northern/central Arizona chapter of Honor Flight Network, the 28th state to set up a hub. As a part of the national Honor Flight Network, our goal is to fly as many WWII, Korean War & Vietnam War veterans as possible from Arizona to Washington, D.C. at no cost to the veteran. Since its inception, Honor Flight Arizona has flown nearly 2,800 Veterans and 2,000 guardians, and manages a volunteer base of nearly 90 active volunteers. Honor Flight Arizona was started in 2008 after our Hub Coordinator, Susan Howe took her father, a B-24 nose gunner, on an Honor Flight from Ohio. She was very touched by the experience and recognized the need for Honor Flight to come to Arizona. By the end of 2008, Susan had completed the required paperwork, formed the first Honor Flight AZ board and fund raising began. Twelve veterans flew on the first trip in November, 2009, and was the first Honor Flight flown from west of the Mississippi. While we celebrate our accomplishments, we have a very lengthy waiting list of Vietnam War veterans. The Honor Flight Arizona mission continues!

  • Why we do what we do... "My sister called me a few days after we got home and told me that my Dad told her.....'It’s the best trip I ever took.' It made me cry." "Like any military operation I am well aware of the countless hours you and the rest of your staff and volunteers contribute to the success of each Honor Flight.?Please let your people know how much all you do is appreciated." "Honor Flight was truly one of the greatest experiences and honors of Mom's life. She mentioned it often. Thank you for everything. Words can never express my gratitude for all you do." "My dad was clearly not in the best condition during this flight, which everyone from Honor Flight AZ recognized, and were so gracious about.?This trip is probably the last trip he will ever take, and probably the last time his son will ever get to spend one-on-one time with him. And to do in this way, we can never thank those responsible?enough." "I received a phone call from my Mom - 'What?DID YOU DO to your Father? He hasn't stopped talking about that trip.?He just goes on and on about the people he met and the places he went.'" "Thank you for all your service to Veterans.?To my knowledge, my mom has never received any recognition for her service.?Though many veterans were drafted, she volunteered.?The Honor Flight was a true experience of a lifetime for both of us.?We had no idea how much we would experience during the trip.?Thank you for packing in so many memories." www.honorflightaz.org
