'National Vietnam Veterans Day' honors the service, sacrifice, and resilience of all United States veterans who were active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces from November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, regardless of location. More than 9 million served with honor, courage, and commitment. In 1973, March 29th marked the official withdrawal of U.S. troops from Vietnam. Let’s come together to pay tribute to the 2.7 million Americans who valiantly served during this difficult chapter in our country's history. Today is a time set aside to thank and honor Vietnam-era veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice of more than 58,000 gave the ultimate sacrifice, also, with special recognition to former POWs and to the families of the 1,582 still listed as Missing In Action. HONOR and REMEMBER has presented hundreds of personalized flags to Vietnam-era mothers, fathers, widows, children, and relatives. ?? Speedway Digest: Today, NASCAR announced that it will officially partner with Honor and Remember through its NASCAR IMPACT platform to bring Gold Star families to tracks across the country. As a part of this new partnership, Honor and Remember – whose mission is to “publicly honor and remember every American fallen services member and recognize the enduring sacrifice of every family” – will host two Gold Star families at Daytona International Speedway for the United Rentals 300 and the 67th running of the DAYTONA 500.
