This is Razer - my weekend hotel room foster. He is one of 40 pets adopted in 4 hours during our PetSmart Charities team trip to Philadelphia. Razer looks like a lot of the dogs languishing in shelters right now - 4 months old, black, large mixed breed. He found his people on Saturday because Sarah Barnett and her team at ACCT Philly were willing to try new things. On Thursday we visited the hardworking team at ACCT Philly. And took 7 big dogs and 5 cats with us to foster in our hotel. Yep - 12 foster animals in our hotel. Because we know that even a day trip or overnight foster can dramatically increase a pet’s adoption odds. And because Homewood Suites by Hilton is pet friendly! On Friday we hosted Adoption Partner groups representing several states and almost 110,000 annual intakes for a summit. Our team and?guest speakers challenged everyone to rethink what is possible, look for where we get in our own way, and TRY ONE NEW THING. On Saturday we hosted a multi-group adoption event at the PetSmart store in Willow Grove, PA. 40 pets went home - including 8 big dogs and 18 cats from ACCT Philly.?They tried SEVERAL new things. A large offsite event with tons of fosters, inviting multiple adoption groups, spending on targeted social media ads, and even foster to adopt. And it worked! I know things are rough in shelters right now - it’s crowded and overwhelming. And I also know that many people still want pets, and that magic happens when you bring pets out into the community. I am incredibly grateful to the village that was part of making this a success. Especially Dave Stolnacker and the store team that went above and beyond to welcome us and deal with so many extra people and pets, and Elizabeth Gamboa who was the mastermind behind the whole trip.

ArtWorks Cincinnati recently completed their second mural at Ovation, titled 'Sunrise' and designed by Adrienne Dixon. It appears on the eastern face of Homewood Suites by Hilton at Newport Cincinnati (opening later this year) near MegaCorp Pavilion. This mural further supports our CASA design approach, our effort to mix Color, Art, Sound, and Architecture at every turn within Ovation. It ensures a beautiful, warm, intentionally unexpected, and highly engaging community.
