What an incredible evening in Galva, Illinois! Keeping the momentum going in Galva! We’re thrilled to have cohosted a Community & Economic Development Meeting for Galva on November 14th. ?We had a fantastic turnout of engaged and passionate attendees. It was inspiring to see so many community members, business leaders, and stakeholders come together to share their vision for Galva’s future. During the meeting attendees learned about who we are, Hometown Consulting, and our partnership with the City of Galva; the accomplishments that have been made, with information on current Galva projects and future collaborative plans. Attendees also enjoyed dinner, networking opportunities, and an interactive survey, with group feedback, questions and discussions on the future of Galva. A special highlight of the evening was the spotlight on Allenia Space Design Center, the winner of the Galva Spark Business Competition. Their innovative ideas and plans for their space in downtown Galva left everyone excited about the possibilities ahead. Thank you to everyone who attended, shared feedback, and contributed to shaping a brighter future for Galva. Events like these demonstrate the power of collaboration and community-driven development. ? Big news from Galva, Illinois! ? We’re thrilled to announce that Allenia Space Design Center is the proud winner of the Galva Spark Business Competition! ?? Allenia Space Design Center is a hybrid of building/interior/garden design studio, a home décor & lifestyle shop, and a program/event space. This exciting venture will bring innovation and inspiration to the heart of downtown Galva. As winner of the Galva Spark Business Competition, Allenia Space Design Center will receive 12 months rent-free, with utilities, taxes, and garbage services included for a downtown building space located at 330 Front Street, next to Crescent City Tap. Allenia Space Design Center will also receive additional funding to kickstart their innovative business. To celebrate this milestone, Allenia Space Design Center cohosted their first event with Crescent City Tap as a soft opening in their new space on November 9th. This Brew & View Night event gave attendees a sneak peek of the space and its potential to transform ideas into reality, along with a screening of The Blues Brothers, with drinks, complementary popcorn, and the ability to order bites from Crescent City Tap. ? Our Downtown Revitalization kickoff meeting in Atkinson, Illinois last night was great. There were almost 50 attendees at the meeting including elected officials, building owners, business owners and residents. For those of you that don’t know, Atkinson has a population of right at 1,000. This is a better turnout than we get in some communities 3x & 4x this size and was inspiring to see. All were there to be a part of sharing perspectives, identifying barriers and discussing a dynamic vision for downtown revitalization efforts and intentional investments by the village. Thank you to Vantage Architects, LLC for their participation in our presentation and providing next steps on conceptual designs for downtown buildings. Their goal is to work with the village board and building owners to help ensure that the history and aesthetic characteristics of Atkinson remain, even as buildings are updated and modernized.
