HSI’s Sponsor a Family Shelter Room is a way for interested individuals, companies and community groups to help families feel a sense of comfort and ease as they begin their journey out of homelessness. A huge thanks goes to the volunteers from MillerKnoll who recently visited our residents at the Mt Kemble Home for “Crafts and Crumpets!” They brought tea, baked goods and all of the supplies for the ladies to assemble beautiful fall wreaths for their doors. With the holidays fast approaching we’re seeking groups to help “make the season bright” for adults living in our shelter, Transitional Housing, Mt. Kemble Home, Women’s Campus and Warming Center. As you can imagine the holidays can be a tough time for people and the simple act of receiving a gift can make a world of difference.??While our children are all well taken care of, we have over 118 adults to provide gifts for this year and we’re asking for the help of “Holiday Angels” to make this happen. It’s Election Day! A few weeks ago our Community Relations Coordinator Abby held a voter registration ice cream social for our shelter guests where they were able to watch a video about the importance of voting and participate in open dialogue with any questions they had.
