As Jonathan Foley highlights in his Ted talk, there’s an opportunity to build an entirely better food system that stops climate change, and it doesn’t require new technology. Needed solutions are simple, and yet they are not fully deployed. So how does Homegrown contribute to the solutions outlined? 1. It promotes access to fresh, local and seasonal fruits and vegetables supporting an increased share of plant-based food consumed. 2. It improves food system efficiency by connecting growers and consumers on a hyper local scale to reduce food loss. 3. It educates its community of consumers and growers about regenerative agriculture and ultimately rewards growers that improve their farming methods.
