A big thanks to Pacific Clinics for its generous donation, which made our cookie-making session extra sweet! ??? The kids at our Gilroy Shelter got creative with leprechaun traps and enjoyed a special reading of "How to Catch a Leprechaun" ??. We also enjoyed live music, games, and plenty of laughter across our sites. ?? #TeamworkTuesdays ??? ? Thanks to a generous grant from the Mission City Community Fund, our Gilroy Shelter now has new canopies, which provide much-needed coverage for our outdoor space. Our 24/7, 365-day emergency shelter serves up to 120 individuals each night, offering a safe and supportive environment to help people regain stability.? ? With the new canopies in place, participants can now enjoy a more comfortable space, no matter the weather. This upgrade has made a huge difference in their experience, and we’re incredibly grateful to Mission City Community Fund for making this possible. ??? ? Thanks to amazing corporate partners, our kit builds provide unhoused individuals with essential items like hygiene supplies, snacks, and inclement weather gear. ? ? For our outreach staff, these kits often drive our first point of contact, helping them build trust and create a path toward long-term support and stability for those experiencing homelessness.? ? Michael is a talented artist who, after facing homelessness, found stability and inspiration at HomeFirst’s interim housing site, Labath Landing. Originally from Illinois, he’s been painting since high school, where he was inspired by his art teacher, Mr. Wagoner. Michael’s work often reflects his love of nature. You can see this theme in his pieces 'Butter Moth' and 'Drive Thru'.? ? His dream? To create a large-scale mural.
