关于我们
Homeboy Industries mission is to hope, training, and support to formerly gang-involved and previously incarcerated adults and youth, allowing them to redirect their lives and become contributing members of our community. For 30 years, Homeboy Industries has created a therapeutic community that provides the critical support needed for gang members and previously incarcerated individuals to change their lives. This non profit organization has made a singular impact on the Los Angeles community, not only by providing a means for thousands of individuals to support their families, but also by cultivating healing that helps ensure the cycle of violence is broken. More than 300 people each year are employed through job training positions in our downtown Los Angeles headquarters. They learn on-the-job skills in what is often their first “real” job. They are encouraged to use their workday to work on themselves through a variety of free programs and services like mental health therapy, tattoo removal, substance abuse counseling, parenting and financial literacy classes, GED tutoring, solar panel installation training, case management and legal services. Additionally, thousands of L.A. community clients, have access to a segment of our services including employment counseling and tattoo removal. These are all offered free of charge thanks, in large part, to the donations we receive. In addition to being a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, Homeboy Industries operates nearly a dozen social enterprises including: Homegirl Café, Homeboy Bakery, HomeboyFoods.com, Homeboy Diner at L.A. City Hall, Homeboy Gluten-Free Bakery, Homegirl Catering, Homeboy Silkscreen and Embroidery, Homeboy Merchandise and Homeboy Electronics Recycling. We also license the brand for distribution via Retail Grocery and an LAX quick service restaurant.

I'm feeling gratitude for the afternoon I spent at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) yesterday. Thank you to Rosalba Zesati, MAM, C-TAGME, Paola Padilla, Irene Garza Lazo, MHA and the rest of the team at the PLATICA ERG and NALHE SoCal for welcoming me and Homeboy Industries for a wonderful event. It was a privilege to spend time with everyone and share more about Homeboy. As is always the case, I love the opportunity to spotlight members of the Homeboy family.?Today marked Jose Leon's first time speaking on behalf of Homeboy and he did such a great job. I was also pleased to have Co-Managing Director of Homeboy Media (and former Director of Major Gifts) Alexa Carpena-Rousso speak. Alexa has been a part of Homeboy nearly as long as I have… And special thanks to CHLA CEO Paul S. Viviano for a very gracious introduction.?I am very appreciative of your leadership at Children’s Hospital, and look forward to continuing this collaboration between Homeboy and CHLA.

Today, NALHE SoCal had the privilege of partnering with CHLA’s PLATICA ERG to host an inspiring event featuring Thomas Vozzo CEO of Homeboy Industries. His powerful words and the testimonials from those impacted by Homeboy Industries deeply resonated with all of us. It was a reminder to continuously strive for excellence not just as leaders, but as human beings. We are incredibly thankful to Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and its CEO Paul S. Viviano for their unwavering commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity, making this impactful event possible. This experience reinforced our mission of fostering an environment where everyone feels valued, supported, and heard. Together, we can create spaces for healing and trust, where individuals and communities can thrive. Thank you again to CHLA’s PLATICA ERG for your invitation to partner and to Thomas Vozzo and guest speakers Jose Leon and Alexa Carpena-Rousso for sharing their stories and experiences at Homeboy Industries. We all strive for human connection and you taught us today that authentic vulnerability and compassion moves mountains. Thank you for sharing that with us today. #PLATICAERG #CHLA #NALHESoCal #DiversityAndInclusion #Leadership #HealingCommunities #AuthenticVulnerability

If you’ve never heard of Homeboy Industries, it's an incredible nonprofit that is considered to be the most the most successful gang intervention, rehabilitation, and reentry program in the country. In this latest episode of Elevate Eldercare, Susan Ryan talks with Homeboy CEO Thomas Vozzo, who will also give the opening keynote talk at our upcoming conference this November. How does the Homeboy philosophy elevate eldercare? In Vozzo's book, “The Homeboy Way,” he examines the many lessons he’s learned as CEO and how the organization's philosophy to life is a perfect antidote to the massive tidal currents of social injustice and inequities in the workplace. What's more, Homeboy emphasizes the importance of celebrating each individual’s worth, which is central to the very values that both Pioneer Network and Green House hold dear. Join us so you can hear Vozzo speak at the CFI 2024 conference?in Grand Rapids, Mich., where he will be joined by dozens of forward-thinking leaders, academics, and advocates who will?Grow Bolder together.
