关于我们

HomeAid’s mission is to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement, and education. To achieve its mission, HomeAid connects regional builders and housing industry professionals with nonprofits focused on ending homelessness. This connection allows each group to do what they do best. HomeAid’s partner builders and trade partners donate their expertise, time, and resources to renovate or build homeless shelters, housing facilities, and other nonprofit spaces. This generous donation allows organizations to allocate their scarce resources on programming and interventions to work toward sustainably ending homelessness. HomeAid National Capital Region is the official nonprofit of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association (NVBIA) and is a chapter of HomeAid America.

Thanks to the generosity of Stanley Martin Homes, HomeAid National Capital Region, and 16 incredible trade partners, they completed a beautiful renovation of our Second Story townhomes - creating a safe, welcoming space for young mothers and their children. This renovation included fresh paint, updated bathrooms, enhanced storage, new kitchen appliances, and a repaired HVAC system. This partnership goes back over two decades, beginning with our very first project in 2001 when we were known as Alternative House. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made this possible! Thank you to: HDS Drywall Services, Inc.., Shaw, AHF, UCX Mid-Atlantic, Exceptional Choices, Inc, Falcon Heating & Air Conditioning, Buhl Electric, Capital Mechanical LLC, Choice Floors & Stairways, Century Tile Inc., GE Appliances, a Haier company, Titan Erosion Control, Stadler Nurseries, 84 Lumber, RC Enterprises, Inc., and Terra Stoneworks

  • Today we celebrated the completion of a project at Second Story, along with Builder Captain Stanley Martin Homes. Longtime supporters may remember Second Story by its original name – Alternative House – and you might even remember that our very first project in 2001 was for Alternative House, with Stanley Martin one of the driving forces in getting the project off the ground. In partnership with Stanley Martin Homes and 16 trade partners, we transformed a three-level townhome owned by Second Story into a welcoming, functional space for young mothers and their children. Thanks to the generosity of HomeAid’s partners, the $70,151renovation included fresh paint, updated bathrooms, enhanced storage, new kitchen appliances, and a repaired HVAC system. The team are Stanley Martin Homes also donated a new playhouse, giving children a special space to play and imagine as well as $1,700 worth of home essentials. Seeing this partnership continue more than two decades later is a testament to the power of collaboration and community. A heartfelt thank you to Stanley Martin Homes and all the trade partners who made this possible!

This week, we hosted a Care Day where volunteers from Toll Brothers came together to make a meaningful impact at PathForwardVA. Over the course of two days, the volunteers dedicated their time to organizing the clothing closet, where clients can “shop” for warm winter clothes and essentials. They also assembled an impressive 270 bagged lunches for PathForward to distribute at the Homeless Services Center and during street outreach. Additionally, the volunteers served lunch to 90 clients, providing nourishment and a smile to those in need. Thank you, Toll Brothers, for encouraging your employees to take an active role in giving back to the community! https://lnkd.in/e9npjqjV

  • Bryan Guidash, managing shareholder, Prince William County, Virginia Office, Walsh, Colucci, Lubeley & Walsh has been named 2025 president of the HomeAid National Capital Region Board of Directors. One of Guidash’s earliest experiences with HomeAid came when he joined a small group to deliver essentials to a “tent city” in Prince William County, an experience that had a large and immediate impact. “I realized that HomeAid was something I should be a part of,” he said. “I had been looking for a way to get more involved in my community and give back, and taking part in something that had such immediate and clear results caught my attention.” It confirmed in his mind that he had made the right choice to join the Board, eventually serving as Secretary in 2023, Vice President in 2024, and now as President. Bryan Guidash will be joined on the Executive Board by John Darvish (John Darvish Construction), vice president/president-elect; Worth Jenkins (DRB Homes), secretary; Rick Cole (The Long Companies), treasurer; Alicia Cox Skoug, MIRM (Drees Homes), At-Large Member; and Tom Twomey (Stanley Martin Homes), immediate past president.

  • Join HomeAid on Thursday, March 13th from 3:30 – 6:30 PM at Top Golf Loudoun for our annual GolfAid event. This is a wonderful team-building activity and a great opportunity to bring partners and potential new clients together to help build company culture and generate new business. All proceeds from the event support HomeAid in transforming spaces and providing nonprofits with the essential resources they need to better assist our neighbors, expand their critical programs, and make a lasting impact on the people they serve. https://lnkd.in/e28w9E6G
