Thanks to our Board Member Kristine Truong with Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton LLP, we had a mini "HomeAid Inland Empire Night" in their suite at Crypto.com Arena for the Kings game vs. the St. Louis Blues last night. Our Executive Director Matt Friedlander was joined by Board Member Andy Mulz, and Board Affiliates Todd Bourguignon and Jorge Estrada. It was an exciting one too with the Blues winning in a shootout! For families and individuals experiencing homelessness, underwear and socks are essential and urgently needed items. Yet, they also tend to be some of the most under donated items of clothing. HomeAid Inland Empire's annual “Seats & Feets” underwear & socks drive is underway and runs through Friday, February 28th. The Seats & Feets Drive is a community-based donation drive aimed at collecting underwear and socks for the many individuals and families experiencing homelessness in our community. How can you help? The easiest way is by simply scanning the QR Code on the flyer with your phone or visiting the Seats & Feets page on our website at https:/https://lnkd.in/gUGwhF9d. There you can make a financial contribution by clicking on the “Donate Funds” button which will allow us to purchase essentials in bulk at a significant discount from retail prices. Also, if you'd prefer purchasing items yourself, they can be dropped off at the HAIE offices at 3600 Lime St, Bldg. 2, Riverside, CA 92501. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at 951-686-0628 or at [email protected], and thanks in advance for your support in helping us help our unhoused neighbors this February! #HomeAidIE #SeatsAndFeets Jonathan Freeman Brian King Evelyn Hawkins ? Over these past two mornings, Our Board President Jonathan Freeman, Immediate Past President Brian King, VP Community Engagement Andrew Mulz, and Executive Director Matt Friedlander participated in both Riverside County and San Bernardino County's Point-In-Time Counts. A point-in-time count involves tallying the number of individuals experiencing homelessness in a community on a specific night or morning, encompassing both those in shelters and those without shelter. Housing and Urban Development (HUD) mandates that Continuums of Care carry out an annual count, covering people in emergency shelters, transitional housing, and Safe Havens. Accurately gauging homelessness is vital for communities to secure funding and address the escalating public health crisis. In addition, the PIT count serves as a reminder of the persistence of homelessness, and can galvanize public awareness, community involvement, and advocacy for systemic changes. Evelyn Hawkins ?
