Great to hear from Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens Dickens that he wants “Atlantato be a place that provides an opportunity for all to have safe, stable and affordable housing.” Excited to hear from other leaders throughout the region on how they are dealing with the housing affordability crisis at the Atlanta Regional Housing Forum including Anna Roach, Executive Director and CEO of tge Atlanta Regional Commission who says “this is a fixable problem, let’s put our hands, heads and hearts together to solve it.”

Celebrating Women in Construction Week! ??♀? Did you know? Women make up approximately 10.9% of the construction workforce but their impact is undeniable. Whether on job sites, in design, or leading the charge in development, women are shaping the future of construction and building stronger communities. WIC Week?, or Women in Construction Week?, celebrates and promotes the role of women in the construction industry. NAWIC held the first WIC Week in 1998 and it has grown and expanded each year since. Women in Construction Week is a time to celebrate the incredible contributions of women in the building industry and inspire the next generation of leaders. At HomeAid, we’re proud to work alongside so many talented women in the industry who help us create safe, stable housing for those experiencing homelessness. Join us in celebrating their dedication and achievements this week! ???? ?? Learn more at: https://wicweek.org/ #WICWeek #WomenInConstruction #BuildingABetterFuture #HomeAid #StrongerTogether

It was an exciting day at the State Capitol today, because Housers were out in force to build the first every Habitat for Humanity home at the Capitol! It was great to see legislators celebrating this, include Representatives Clint Crowe, MBA, Lehman Franklin, and Lynn Smith. Congratulations to Habitat for Humanity of Georgia, Inc., Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, Habitat for Humanity DeKalb, Inc (HFHD), Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity, and all the many affiliates from around the state who came out to make this happen. Kudos to HomeAid Georgia for sponsoring and recruiting volunteer homebuilders. And, kudos to HouseATL member, SK Collaborative, who was also a sponsor. More photos coming!

So what are you doing today? Me? I’m just hanging out with 100 of my friends. HomeAid Georgia is framing a house with Habitat for Humanity of Georgia, Inc. in front of the State Capitol to bring awareness to the issue of housing affordability. Special thanks to Lennar Atlanta, Ashton Woods Homes, Taylor Morrison, Brightwater Homes and HomeTrust Bank for representing HomeAid Georgia well! We were even asked to slow down the pace of construction!
