The HomeAid Austin staff spent the past week in Salt Lake City Utah, with the 18 other HomeAid affiliates from across the nation for our Annual National Leadership Conference! We had great site tours, enthusiastic guest speakers, and even our very own Kim McCorkle giving space for the HomeAid team to learn exercises designed to cultivate self-kindness and reduce self-criticism. What we probably value the most is the time we get to spend with the other affiliates, the other leaders working to relieve homelessness in our country. We are lucky to share our own knowledge and grateful to learn from them? Did you know HomeAid Austin was just one of 19 affiliates across the country? Tell your friends across the states to support their local HomeAid! #bettertogether?#housingforall?#buildingnewlives

We are so proud to have partnered with such a special organization who impact so many, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Central Texas, for their Food Bank and Freezer Expansion?? A tremendous thank you to?Stewart & Co Construction for dedicating their time, energy, and love into this project as the Build Captain. Their commitment, along with the collective efforts of all involved, has enabled St. Vincent de Paul to expand its services, reaching a bittersweet milestone, and address the unfortunate growing needs of our community. #buildingnewlives?#feedthepeople?#buildwithhomeaid?#atxcommunity

HomeAid Austin is looking for a Build Captain to remodel the residential area of The Greater San Marcos Youth Council ?? Take a look inside where the children of?GSMYC live... The children living at GSMYC and the staff who work there are so deserving of this remodel?? Functioning, private bathrooms, a larger laundry area, and new floors and paint will make a world of difference for this space to feel like a comfortable, working home. A look at our Community Engagement so far this month???? A group of wonderful volunteers joined us at Hope Totes where they organized and created 24 totes full of care and familiar essentials for children entering foster care. At Austin Diaper Bank some dedicated volunteers bundled 9,250 diapers, making 9,250 diapers that much more accessible to those who need them most. This broke a HomeAid Austin record!!! We love our community. We love our volunteers! Be sure to check our website https://lnkd.in/gfZ3DQDe for future volunteer opportunities! #homeaidcares #buildingnewlives

HomeAid Austin was joined by some hardworking volunteers at The Greater San Marcos Youth Council last week?? These volunteers from Brookfield Residential ATX and Corridor Title San Marcos painted GSMYC’s entire family room, organized storage, repaired the fence and gate, and helped organize the Learning Center. These tasks help the staff at GSMYC focus more love and care into the children who live there???? And a thank you to First Watch Restaurants (San Marcos) for providing a delicious lunch for our volunteers! #bettertogether #homeaidcaredays #buildingnewlives
