After newborn Tina was placed in foster care due to her mother’s drug addiction, her father, Rodrigo, stepped up to provide a safe, loving home. With help from Home Start’s Parenting Classes and support programs, he learned how to be the best dad he could be. Today, Rodrigo has full custody of Tina and is thrilled to celebrate her first holiday season together. This Giving Tuesday, your support can help parents like Rodrigo build brighter futures for their children. Donate now to make a difference!

关于我们
Founded in 1972, Home Start is a 501 (c)(3) organization that provides services to children living in poverty who require comprehensive solutions to ensure their safety and healthy development. Our mission has always been dedicated to child abuse prevention and family strengthening services. Last year, we served over 80,000 San Diegans in need of our programs! To effectively prevent and treat child abuse, Home Start addresses the conditions that put children in at risk situations - poverty, unsafe neighborhoods, lack of affordable housing, and unemployment concurrently with addressing individual self sufficiency and emotional needs. Our compassionate staff stabilize crisis situations, counsel to resolve immediate problems, and provide long term therapy to address the underlying cause of the abusive situation. Our comprehensive approach of strengthening families, communities, and the systems that protect our children makes Home Start unique to San Diego! Want to learn more? Our Runaway & Homeless Youth Walk & Rally yesterday reminded us just how impactful small groups of committed individuals can be. More than 100 staff, Board Members, community partners, caring supporters, elected officials, and high school students from e3 Civic High joined our walk, carrying posters and chanting "A Roof For Every Youth." Then, during the rally, Laura Tancredi-Baese, our CEO shared powerful remarks, followed by an impactful speech from Ariel, a courageous youth from our housing programs creating a brighter future for herself. The program concluded with remarks from Michelle Metschel - El Cajon City Councilmember-District 2 and La Mesa Councilmember Jach Shu, and leaders from El Cajon Collaborative and East County Homeless Task Force. Thank you to everyone who came out, listened, and supported. WATCH CBS COVERAGE: https://lnkd.in/gmMu328N
