Home Repair Services of Kent County was established as an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1979 and is located in the heart of Grand Rapids. Home Repair Services strengthens lower-income homeowners throughout all of Kent County with services that include our Home Repair Team, Access Ramps and Bath Modifications Program, Fix-it School Classes, DIY Remodeling Together Program, and Financial Coaching and Workshops. Our Mission: Home Repair Services strengthens vulnerable Kent County homeowners because strong homeowners build strong communities. Our volunteers were busy at work last week, building ADA Compliant Cabinets, supporting our mission to help people to stay in their homes, by meeting the mobility issues that would prevent them from cooking for themselves. ADA compliant means meeting the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards for accessibility. These cabinets will put the kitchen within reach of wheelchair bound home owners.
