Last week we released a new episode of the #HomiesShow feat. our HBIC, jena s? kwa and we're unofficially titling this one "Growth, Grace, and Good Vibes" ???? Prior to kicking off our North America Tour in Brooklyn, Jena Dominique spent two months in Flatbush, submersed in Caribbean culture. This set was primarily inspired by the songs she heard blasting from cars or apartment windows as she navigated the busy streets of Brooklyn. The curated sounds also a testament to her growth in grace and patience for everyone else and, more importantly, for herself. As Homies's founder, director, and producer, she invests significant energy into ensuring each event is seamlessly executed and beautifully captured. So, preparation for her own sets easily slips to the bottom of her priority list. What we've gleaned most from her is that it's ok! Perfection does not exist, and those that are meant to vibe to it will, so long as you Big Up Yuself! She said "I am finding joy in being both a creator and a consumer of my art. I am falling in love with the process of evolving my ear and technical skills to where I know I can be. I am open to equally sharing in my best and not so great moments."
