?? Student Success Story! ?? Felton Smith, a recent graduate from HBI’s Home Building Academy in Phoenix, has found a fresh start in the electrical trade. ?? After years working in concrete and overcoming challenges, including a recent rehab journey, Felton joined HBI’s program with renewed hope. He recalls the relief of acceptance and how overcoming struggles with math boosted his confidence, helping him stay focused and inspired by a new goal. ?? Felton credits HBI with offering “something to be excited about,” and says the support of his classmates kept him going. His favorite part of the experience was the camaraderie and shared stories that reminded him he wasn’t alone. Now sober for five months, Felton looks forward to working in the trades full-time and giving back by teaching others. ?? Employed at Scion Group on the ASU Tempe campus, Felton encourages future HBI students to “believe in yourself, stay humble, and be teachable." He believes that, with determination, there’s no limit to what they can achieve.??

?? HBI Student Success Story! ?? Meet Michael Castro! ?? This October, Michael graduated from the HBI BuildStrong Academy in Orlando, where he mastered the ins and outs of electrical work. Originally working as a maintenance lead at a local resort, Michael joined HBI at his employer’s suggestion to build new skills. Now, thanks to HBI’s hands-on training, he’s leveled up his career in a major way! After completing the program, Michael received an exciting promotion to Maintenance Manager at Blue Green Vacations—and a substantial pay raise, going from $19.50 to $31.60 an hour! His story is a true testament to the power of learning a trade and putting in the work. Michael says his favorite part of the HBI experience was all the hands-on training, which helped him feel ready to tackle real-world challenges. To anyone considering an HBI program, Michael’s advice is simple: “Go for it! The skills you learn here can open doors you didn’t even know existed.” ???
