Paige Phillips King's connection to Holy Cross Health began early—she attended “Take Your Child to Work Day” with her mom and later volunteered for over four years in Guest Relations, the Michael and Dianne Bienes Cancer Center, and the Emergency Department. This passion led her to become a Patient Care Technician while studying at FAU, ultimately inspiring her to pursue a career in nursing. After earning her BSN at the University of Wisconsin, Paige joined our Nurse Residency Program, transitioned to the ED during the height of COVID-19, and has now risen to Nurse Manager of 2 South. Reflecting on her journey, Paige shares, “Nursing wasn’t a direct path for me, but I trusted the process and took chances. I’ve learned that adaptability is key in healthcare. The challenges you face aren’t obstacles—they’re opportunities to learn and grow.” What drives Paige every day? “The impact we can make on our patients and colleagues. Seeing our team overcome challenges together, providing exceptional care, and feeling valued for their efforts keeps me motivated.” One of Paige’s proudest accomplishments is the launch of the TogetherTeam Virtual Care Model in November 2023. “This project required collaboration across many areas—training, logistics, patient and family education, and more. Nine months in, we’re already seeing positive changes in teamwork, patient experience, and quality metrics. I’m excited to see what the future brings for TogetherTeam and the evolution of technology in the care of patients.” Leading a diverse team has taught Paige the importance of understanding each individual’s strengths. “With four different generations on my team, I’ve learned that leadership isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. It’s about recognizing and leveraging the unique strengths each person brings.” For those looking to advance in healthcare, Paige advises, “Start being a leader in your current role—take on responsibilities, pursue professional development, and always be open to learning.
