Holy Childhood, is a non-denominational, non-profit agency, that has enriched the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities for more than 75 years. Our Mission is to prepare children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for maximum independence and integration in the community through individualized programs and services, in keeping with the philosophy and vision of our founders. We are dedicated to serving our people in an atmosphere of dignity and compassion. Our current President and CEO is Donna M. Dedee.

At Union Place Coffee Roasters, it’s not just about great coffee—it’s about creating opportunities! Every week, our Work-Based Learning students take on important tasks like labeling coffee bags and stamping sleeves, all while learning valuable workplace skills. Nick, the coffee roaster who oversees the partnership, says, “It’s been more of a tremendous help than anyone could ever imagine—especially during the busy season”. Laurie, the owner, agrees, “I absolutely love these guys. They do necessary, essential work”. Holy Childhood’s Work-Based Learning Program serves our School Program students. Each person receives in-school instruction in addition to off-site work experiences throughout the Rochester community, allowing them a chance to extend their classroom experiences into a real life workplace setting. We wanted to take a second to highlight two of our students in Work-Based Learning for being named Employee of the Month for the program! These students are being recognized for their hard work during the month of January and have met the following criteria: excellence in attendance and reliability, flexibility, initiative, positive attitude, and enthusiasm and motivation. Congratulations!

The Holy Childhood Roboducks demonstrated the true spirit of robotics—problem solving, collaboration, and openness to change. Even with a smaller team, they worked together seamlessly during the First Lego League's Finger Lakes Qualifier Tournament to tackle all challenges, earning praise from the judges! Congratulations, Roboducks!
